Electroplating is a process of using (in most cases) a copper electroplating solution to which a low current is applied. The bong and copper are both immersed in a solution where the transfer of copper to glass takes place. This forms a nice, thick layer of metal over the glass piece, giving the finished piece its unique rusty brown texture.
While the electroplating is stunning in itself, Merlin Glass leaves out some elements of the glass, such as the golden honey drops, while electroplating other parts: such as the gears, clock, and bee.
